FORT is excited to announce our plans to add long-range Bluetooth communication to FORT Pro Series devices! Coming in 2025, the new “1003” models of our Safe Remote Control Pro and Endpoint Controller will offer improved connectivity and make it easier to deploy and control robots for a variety of applications.
Like our current Safe Remote Control Pro devices, the 1003 model will feature a durable, game-style handset, and SIL 3-certified E-Stop functionality. But the new units will offer additional benefits for scenarios where ISM radio isn't feasible or efficient.
Key advantages include:
- Global Deployment: Using the globally accepted 2.4 GHz spectrum, the new models will be eligible for certification in nearly all countries, simplifying international deployment.
- Extended Range: With a potential range of up to
300m, users can expect a significant upgrade in convenience and flexibility over standard Bluetooth
- Improved Co-Location: Enhanced co-location will allow for reliable operation in noisy wireless environments– ensuring seamless communication even in challenging conditions.
- Upgraded Connectivity: The new Safe Remote Control Pro will feature a USB-C connector for improved compatibility and ease of use.
This upgrade reflects FORT's commitment to helping customers boost productivity and reduce risk, even in the toughest environments. "Our customers are building and using machines for a wide range of applications globally," says Engineering VP John Schaefer. "The new Bluetooth models will expand the accessibility of our Robotics Control Platform to even more demanding settings."
